IN a bid to protect this low-lying municipality from extreme flooding, a flood control infrastructure is now being constructed in the coastal Barangay Sagrada.
An 860-meter seawall barrier is being constructed to serve as protection from seawater surges and prevent coastal flooding along the stretch of the left bank portion of the Pampanga River.
The project has a funding of P42,392,375 from the Department of Interior and Local Government’s Local Government Support Fund - Disaster Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Assistance Program (LGSF-DRRAP 2021).
Aside from safeguarding residential communities in Barangay Sagrada and adjacent villages, the seawall barrier is also expected to protect the Pampanga Delta Dike from strong water surges.
The multi-million peso project is expected to be completed and serve its purpose within this year.
