THE 2022 Mindanao Business Conference (MinBizCon) will be held face-to-face (F2F) for the first time in two years since the Covid-19 pandemic, said Area Vice President for Mindanao of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry Arturo Milan on July 7.

During the Wednesdays at Habi at Kape press conference, Milan said the 31st MinBizCon will be held F2F at Tandag City in Surigao del Sur from August 31 to September 2, 2022. He added that this is the second MinBizCon to be held in the Caraga region.

Approximately 600 to 1,000 individuals from 32 different local government units in Mindanao and other guests are expected to participate in the conference.

“We have a dozen of resolutions that we will be presenting for Mindanao,” Milan said, which include strengthening support for Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) programs, connectivity of Mindanao via airports and seaports, and enhancing the educational system like opening post-graduate studies to foreign universities to come to Mindanao, among others.

The previous MinBizCon in 2020 and 2021 was held virtually since the strict Covid-19 restrictions at the time prevented traveling and F2F gatherings.

“Even if we will have F2F, we will exercise safety and health protocols. We will be encouraging the wearing of masks and physical distancing as well,” Milan said. ICM
