ABOUT 50 houses have been affected by the fire that hit Sitio Sto. Niño in Barangay Quiot, Cebu City around 11:20 a.m. Thursday, July 7, 2022.
Senior Fire Officer 2 Wendell Villanueva, spokesperson of the Cebu City Fire Office (CCFO), said they received a report about the incident at 11:02 a.m. and the situation was raised to first alarm six minutes later.
The blaze was declared under control at 12:14 p.m. and firefighters were able to completely put it out at 1:14 p.m.
No casualty has been reported, but firefighters said the blaze left around P1.8 million worth of damage.
The place hit by the fire was a residential area where houses were made of light materials.
The fire victims have been temporarily housed in a barangay facility and have been given assistance by the Department of Social Welfare and Services.
The CCFO said the fire started at the house owned by Raynelia Ole, but further investigation will be conducted.
