Retailer targets to open 300th store in PH this year

HOME improvement one-stop shop Mr. DIY is keen on growing its presence in the Philippines on the back of the robust consumption-driven economy post pandemic.

The retailer is set to open its 300th store in the Philippines, according to Charles Salecina, senior marketing manager of Mr. DIY Philippines.

Salecina said the aggressive expansion across the country is driven by the company’s “passion to serve more Filipino families to bring them wide product range, convenient locations nationwide... at ‘Always Low Prices’.”

Mr. DIY is the largest home improvement retailer with more than 2,000 stores across Southeast Asia including Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore, Brunei, the Philippines, Cambodia, India and Europe in Turkey and Spain.

Currently, the Philippines has 254 branches nationwide, 16 of which are in Cebu located in malls and other commercial strips.

Mr. DIY stores offer a wide selection of — approximately 18,000 stock keeping unit — across five major categories, namely hardware; household and furnishing; electrical; stationery and sports equipment products; and others (comprising among others toys, car accessories, jewelry and cosmetics).

The store announced that it is mounting a Super Anniversary Salebration this month in celebration of its fourth year anniversary in the Philippines.

Starting July 1 until July 31, 2022, Mr. DIY customers can enjoy up to 30 percent off on selected items with no minimum spend, as well as a chance to win prizes for its raffle promo.

“We owe first and foremost to our valued customers who love Mr. DIY and to the hardworking men and women of Mr. DIY PH and lastly to our shareholders and business partners for opening their doors to Mr. DIY here in the Philippines,” Salecina said.
