3 fires in Talisay, Cebu City cause over P10M in damage

CLOSE to P10 million worth of properties were damaged in three separate fire incidents in the cities of Cebu and Talisay on a rainy Thursday night, July 7, 2022.

Talisay City

The first fire was responded to by members of the Talisay City Fire Station personnel in Sitio Longdream, Barangay Bulacao, Talisay City.

Fire Senior Inspector Alvin Torion, fire marshall of Talisay City, said they first received a call at 8:43 p.m.

The fire was put out in just minutes. It damaged one house.

An hour later, firefighters responded to another fire in Bihai Subdivision, Sitio Laray, Barangay San Roque, Talisay City.

Firefighters received the alarm at 10:13 p.m. and arrived in the area around 10:19 p.m.

Responding firefighters declared first alarm at 10:41 a.m. The fire was placed under control at 11:10 a.m.

Torion said one house was destroyed.

Firefighters estimated that the blaze damaged around P1.1 million worth of properties.

Cebu City

Members of the Cebu City Fire Department also responded to a fire alarm on No. 21 Lorenz Street, Barangay Lahug, Cebu City.

The alarm was received at 9:13 p.m. and was raised to first alarm at 9:20 p.m.

The fire was brought under control at 9:39 p.m. and was declared fire out at 9:52 p.m.

Three houses were gutted in the blaze, destroying P7.5 million worth of properties.

The fire reportedly started at the house of Francia Pacis, which was occupied by a Rosemarie Timoteo.

Investigation is ongoing in all three fire incidents. (BBT/JGS)
