Gesalem goes creative: Opening of Gesalem Design Centre

The demand for exceptional homeware never declines as Cebuanos are very keen in designing, ensuring that their spaces are comfortable enough for visitors and homey enough for those residing in them.

With the rise of more modern and trendy designs in the market, Gesalem Design Centre is here to bring forth to the public exactly just that—high-quality and modern interior designs within reach.

Business mogul Jonie Gesalem is no stranger to the food industry. As the one who pulls the reins of Dunkin’ Donuts and Jonie’s Sizzlers and Roast, Jonie is a force to be reckoned with when it comes to the food business in Cebu. As a successful businessman, it is no surprise that he is venturing into the creative field of design. One might see this as a big leap, and it indeed is. According to Gesalem, he does not see himself as an “interior” person but he knows what the market needs.

Gesalem Design Centre is handled by Janine Gesalem, Jonie’s daughter, and she proudly shared how this project wouldn’t be possible without the help of her family and friends.

“I would like to thank my father,” she said, “as he is the face of the company and was able to invite many of his colleagues today.” She goes on to thank her mother who was there during the time that her father was not available. “She is the backbone of the company,” she stated during the opening event on July 8.

It seems like the young lady has the knack for business as she confidently addresses the crowd, thanking those who attended the event, as her father proudly stood by her side. Jonie said that it is only natural that their children will venture into the world of business.

“They were there when we started, “ he said. “It is only natural that they follow our footsteps.”

The young Gesalem seemed to have the knack for modern designs as most of the interior products on display lean more toward a modern and trendy look.

“The whole branding is really more modern and trendy,” she said. “I noticed that in Cebu, we have very limited options. We want to bring back the millennial and Pinterest feels.”

Gesalem Design Center is a one-stop shop that works hand-in-hand with interior designers, so the products sold here are carefully thought out and crafted to cater and satisfy everyone’s interior needs.

Cebuanos can now get that dreamy, Pinterest look for their spaces with the help and expertise of Gesalem Design Center.

Gesalem Design Center is located at BF Centerpoint, Hernan Cortes St, Cebu City, Cebu and is open from Monday to Saturday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
