Dear Dr. Fritz,
Great day! Please call me Jerome. I have a problem with erectile dysfunction. I just
wanted to know if there are exercises that can help for this problem
Dear Jerome B.,
Yes. Kegel exercise or pelvic exercises can help your sexual health and in addressing
your issues. As a matter of fact, this should be the first line of treatment.
There are many ways to do Kegel exercise.
First, is by lying on the floor with back squeezes. Start by lying on your back, with your hands flat on the floor, and your knees bent and pointing upwards. Now, draw your penis
inwards towards your body and hold this for five seconds, and then release. Then, squeeze your anus muscles as though, you are trying to stop a bowel movement or urination and hold for five seconds, then release.
Next, repeat steps two and three, eight to 10 times, and do this for three to five sets.
Another way is by lying on the floor with side squeezes. Start by lying on the floor and on your side. Then, put a pillow between your knees. The pillow should be large enough to
spread your legs apart. Now, squeeze your legs together and hold this for five seconds, and then release.
Next, repeat step three, eight to 10 times, and do this for three to five sets.
The other way is by sitting in a chair with squeezes. Start by sitting on a chair in a comfortable position. Now, squeeze your penis with its muscles as if you are trying to stop urine from coming out. Hold this for five seconds, and then release.
Then, repeat step two, eight to 10 times, and then do this for three to five sets.
Well, there’s more. But, we’re out of space for now. Until next time.
