Guiao: Mayor Malu's enthusiastic support for Magaleños

LAST Thursday, July 7, Pampanga Provincial Vice Governor Lilia "Nanay" Pineda accompanied by newly elected provincial board member Hon. WinWin Garbo from the first district of Pampanga made a surprise visit to the Don Andres Luciano District Hospital in Magalang.

They were met by Mayor Malu Lacson, Municipal Councilor Norman Lacson, hospital personnel and some Municipal and barangay officials. As I observed in her movement, she is still in her usual indefatigable condition, moving around shaking hands with the welcomers and no sign of impatience and weariness in her face. Her motherly touch resembles her name sake NANAY all because of her great concern for the sick, poor and underprivileged.

On the other instances Mayor Malu took the rare opportunity to discuss with the Vice Governor the possibility of helping Mayor Malu's project plans and program for the development of Magalang in the area of health care for her constituents, funding for the rehabilitation of the public market. She also discussed with the Vice Governor the renovation of Bren Z. Guiao sports complex to make it a Mini Convention Center. I am sure sports enthusiasts particularly the youth will appreciate this very much.

It cannot be denied that during the previous administration there were reports of robbery, akyat bahay, cellphone snatching and theft of motorcycles. This prompted Mayor Malu to put up police sub-station in resettlement sites as a deterrent factor to the commission of crime activities in these areas.

Since inflation has increased unabatedly by 6% which adds burdens to the consumers, Mayor Malu sees it very appropriate to consider planting of fruit bearing trees and vegetables at Provincial owned lots in coordination with the Pampanga State Agricultural University (PSAU). This will help ease the burdens being experienced by her constituents brought about by the exorbitant increase in price on consumers' basic commodities.

Included in the priority list of Mayor Malu the building of movable dormitory units for students who can not afford to be stationed at PSAU. This is a visible enthusiastic support for them.
