Guv sets key programs for health, education

GOVERNOR Dennis “Delta” Pineda is set to boost Pampanga’s health and education programs which are part of his 12-point agenda aimed at bringing vital social services closer to the barangays.

Pineda said that chief among his plans for his second term includes the construction of the Pampanga Provincial Hospitals in Clark and Apalit town. The two facilities are aimed at providing vital health care in the east and west areas of Pampanga.

The governor also said that he will now push for the full operation of the three newly constructed dialysis centers in Pampanga. Another maverick plan includes the creation of a Mobile Boat Clinic, complete with doctors and diagnostic equipment, that will serve Pampanga’s coastal areas.

The province is also set to put up wastewater and treatment facilities for the various district and provincial hospitals of Pampanga.

Pineda also assured that the province’s support for scholars will continue and will be expanded to include more beneficiaries under the Educational Finance Assistance Program (EFAP).

From 2020 to 2021, the provincial government gave out P24,733,000 and P23,283,000 for the first and second semesters, respectively to college Efap beneficiaries.

The provincial government had also given out some P6,184,000 financial assistance to Alternative Learning System learners (ALS) for 2021. Pineda also said that the Special Program for Employment of Students will also continue and will include more beneficiaries.

Delta Learning Hubs are also being constructed in partnership with local government units, according to Pineda. The governor added that these learning hubs will include computers and other equipment for educational research.

More school buildings are also expected to be constructed this year according to the recommendations of the Local School Board.
