THE city government, through the city police, launched a barangay-based program designed to address all forms of assault against women and their children.

In line with this, the local police under the leadership of Lieutenant Colonel Protom E. Guevarra, spearheaded the signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) of Project B.E. C.A.R.E.F.U.L. - Barangay Empowerment on Child Abuse Resistance and Elimination- Fight Unwanted Lewd-Design at Side Grill Restaurant in Barangay Mabiga recently.

Project BE CAREFUL is aimed to "strengthen the bonds of Philippine National Police and the community in the campaign to eradicate sexual abuse thru massive information campaign to all residents at any age level with the help of partners agencies and stakeholders."

"Each of us have vital roles in maintaining peace and order and cooperation is very essential in preventing sexual abuses within Area of Responsibility," the local police stated.

"We encourage our communities to support this timely and relevant project that will help address the prevention of cases of violence against women and children," the local PNP added.

The event was graced by Executive Assistant Fiel Sacay, representing Mabalacat City Mayor Cris Garbo; Rowena Ocampon of the DILG, CSWDO Josephine Tanglao; ABC President Elmer Mendiola; and others.
