STUDENTS are not required to wear uniform during the resumption of in-person classes, Education Secretary Vice President Sara Duterte-Carpio said on Monday, July 18, 2022.

“Even before the pandemic, it is not a strict requirement for public schools to wear uniforms to avoid incurring additional costs to the families of our learners,” she said in a statement.

“All the more that it will not be required this school year given the increasing prices and economic losses due to the pandemic,” Duterte added.

Earlier, the Department of Education announced that the opening of School Year 2022-2023 will start on August 22 and end on July 7, 2023.

By November, all schools should have transitioned to a five-day per week in-person classes as blended or distance learning is no longer allowed. (SunStar Philippines)
