THE Bukidnon Cowboys picked up their second win in the Pilipinas Super League 21-Under VisMin Leg after they defeated the Bogo City Bugoys, 76-64, on Thursday, July 21, 2022, at the Cebu City Sports Institute in Sawang Calero.
The win moved Bukidnon to 2-0 in this tournament while Bogo City suffered their third loss in a row to drop to 0-3.
Raul Gentallan played like a man on a mission as he stepped up and produced 24 points, five rebounds, four steals, and three assists. Kent Salarda had a muted afternoon and finished with just 10 points and eight rebounds.
Despite not playing in two weeks, the Cowboys did not show much rust and surged in front 33-17 late in the second period. However, the Bugoys did not mess around and uncorked a huge 14-3 run sparked by the shotmaking of James Gica to trim the deficit to just five, 31-36, at halftime.
However, the Cowboys kept their wits about them and held their ground, raising their lead back to 10, 54-44, at the end of three before dominating the fourth to pull off the victory.
Gica shot in six three-pointers for 22 points while Redjhee Recimiento had 16 markers for Bogo. Matthew Booc chipped in 12 points for the team of head coach Bernie Ursal.
