JOINT police and military troops have arrested in a law enforcement operation an Abu Sayyaf bandit in an island village in Zamboanga City, an official said Thursday, July 21, 2022.
Police Colonel Alexander Lorenzo of the Zamboanga City Police Office identified the arrested Abu Sayyaf bandit as Janib Ilun, 42.
Lorenzo said Ilun was arrested in a law enforcement operation by way of service of a warrant of arrest around 9:59 a.m. Thursday in Landang Laum village, Sacol Island, Zamboanga City.
Landang Laum is one of the four barangays in Sacol Island. The other three villages are Landang Gua, Busay and Pasilmanta.
Ilun has standing warrant of arrest for the crime of murder with no recommended bail issued June 29, 2016 by the court of this city, according to Lorenzo. (SunStar Zamboanga)
