The Davao Occidental mercilessly crushed the Lapu-Lapu City Pantum, 122-62, to notch their second victory in the Pilipinas Super League 21-Under on Thursday evening at the Cebu City Sports Institute in Sawang Calero.

The win boosted Davao’s win-loss record to 2-1. It also did not take long for the Dreamers to impose their will on their opponent as they raced off to a massive 18-point lead, 27-9, after the first canto.

The Dreamers then kept their foot on the gas pedal and outscored Lapu-Lapu City, 40-13, in the second canto to erect a humongous 45-point advantage at halftime, 67-22. The lead eventually reached a high of 64 as the Dreamers sought to send a message to the rest of the competition with the dominant show.

Rainier Maga led Davao Occidental with 19 points and three steals. Jude Bagay had 17 points and seven rebounds, while Christian Malano added 14 points, five boards, and two assists.

The Dreamers’ defense was also relentless as they tallied 25 steals and forced Lapu-Lapu into committing a whopping 38 turnovers.

Jeco Bancale was Lapu-Lapu’s high-point man with 16 points.
