CVFA to compete in CVFA Invitational

THE Central Visayas Football Association (CVFA) U-19 squad gets much-needed experience before its campaign in the final stage of the Philippine Football Federation (PFF) U-19 National Championship Division 2 as the team competes in a mini tournament next month.

CVFA is up against Bohol FA, Negros Occidental FA and Forza FC in the CVFA U-20 Invitational on Aug. 4 to 6 at the Dynamic Herb-Borromeo Sports Complex in Talisay City.

“We will be up against good competition because our opponents are hand-picked. It helps our U-19 team a lot because we’re facing new teams,” CVFA U-19 team manager Jhojo Partosa told SunStar Cebu.

CVFA has also been playing exhibition matches with Philippines Football League (PFL) team Cebu FC (CFC) after winning the Visayas Leg of the PFF U-19 Championship Division 2 last month.

“We resumed practice on July 4. We already had two friendlies with CFC,” Partosa said.

CVFA also played its third exhibition match with CFC on July 23.

CVFA will compete in the final stage of the PFF U-19 National Championship Division 2 on Aug. 23 to 27. CVFA is in Group B and faces three other teams in a single round-robin. The squad with the most points will become the Visayas-Mindanao winner and get promoted to Division 1.
