Oro mayor to issue order to inspect vax cards of customers

CAGAYAN de Oro City Mayor Rolando "Klarex" Uy is set to release an executive order mandating all malls, offices, restaurants, eateries and commercial establishments in the city to inspect the vaccination cards of their customers.

According to Uy, city epidemiologist Dr. Teodulfo Joselito Retuya Jr. has informed him that Kagay-anons have become complacent in their compliance with the minimum public health protocols.

The executive order, Uy said, will remind the consuming public and the management of commercial establishments to do their part in keeping Covid-19 at bay.

During last Monday's city hall press briefing, Retuya mentioned that some malls and commercial establishments in Cagayan de Oro are lax in enforcing health protocols.

The city epidemiologist added that some security guards do not check if the customers carry their vaccination cards and wear their face masks properly.

Uy said that he will meet with the officials of the Emergency Operations Center prior to next Monday’s Covid-19 response press briefing.

He also reminded the public to get vaccinated.
