THE number of active coronavirus cases in Pampanga is now nearing its 1,000 mark as 928 infections have been recorded on July 24, Sunday with some 98 new cases logged on the said date alone.
The 98 new infections are so far the highest single-day increase of active cases for this year. Of the 928 active cases, 744 are from Pampanga while 184 are from Angeles City. Pampanga alone has recorded some 823 cases in the last 14 days while Angeles City has recorded some 214 for the same period.
The total number of recovered cases has also increased to 87,479. The total number of confirmed cases since the start of the pandemic has now reached some 90, 263 cases. Deaths from the coronavirus pandemic since 2021 are recorded at 1,856.
The province’s bed occupancy rate for its 45 health facilities is now at 19.6 percent. Some 132 hospital beds are currently occupied from the total of 674 beds available in the province. The occupancy level in one hospital is at a critical level while another is at moderate capacity. Some 34 hospital facilities are still within safe levels.
