Cops, PDEA dismantle drug den in Sibugay town

JOINT police and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) operatives have dismantled a drug den and arrested five high-value target (HVTs) drug suspects in an anti-drug operation in Zamboanga Sibugay province, an official said Monday, July 25, 2022.

Police Colonel Albert Larubis, Zamboanga Sibugay police director, said the drug den was dismantled in a buy-bust operation around 3:40 p.m. Sunday in Purok Reservoir, Don Andres villge, Ipil.

Larubis identified the five arrested HVTs as follows: Al-medzfar Aclaracion Abuales, 22; Boy Teves Navaro, 31; Jericho Ace Alejandro Ortiz, 23; Janmark Chora Rosales, 19; and Zomiso Yañez Capillanes Jr., 31.

He said the anti-drug operation was launched following series of surveillance on the activity of the suspects.

Larubis said that confiscated from the suspects were some 10 grams of suspected shabu worth P68,000, assorted illegal drug paraphernalia, and P1,000 marked money.

He said the suspects were detained while charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against them. (SunStar Zamboanga)
