NEGRENSE Ma. Karmila Yu-Docto, who hails from the town of Murcia, Negros Occidental, happily works and lives in Japan with her husband, Joselito Docto, Jr.

Their journey as a couple has faced many challenges before they finally get to live together in Japan.

“The geographical distance that keeps us apart has strengthened our resolve to find means for us to live together as a couple,” she said.

She married Joselito Jr., a Filipino resident of Japan, and they are presently living and working together in the highly progressive land of the rising sun.

"It was like spending my destiny because it was my dream before I wanted to go to this place. It's like living my dream now," Yu-Docto said.

She shared that she was amazed by the job opportunities in Japan because it is easy to land a job there.

"We live modestly here in Japan and we work together in the same company, which helps us a lot, especially in terms of transportation,” she said.

She said that before the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) pandemic, she was still in the Philippines waiting for the release of her visa.

"The lockdown came, and it was a challenge of how patient I am and my husband (as) we don't know when the borders will open but patience is a virtue,” Yu–Docto recalled.

Her husband and her have lived in a long-distance relationship for nine years and they are already used to that set-up.

These challenges have strengthened their relationship and even deepened their faith in God, which enabled them to endure the trials of life.

"We go to beautiful destinations with my husband, riding his motorcycle here and along the way, I discovered my penchant for vlogging," she noted.

In addition, she said that many Filipinos like to tour, work, and live in Japan, and she can impart ideas and guides to them because she gets to see the places they may want to visit, too.

Admitting being a newbie in blogging, Yu-Docto said she shared some vlogs about the lifestyle, culture, rules here, and food.

“Through my vlogs, I can give them the idea that could guide them when they come and visit beautiful spots in Japan,” she stresses.
