AT LEAST 1,040 beneficiaries of Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) in Bacolod City were already removed from the official list of program recipients, an official said.

Pacita Tero, head of Department of Social Services and Development (DSSD), said yesterday, July 25, that of 11, 700 household beneficiaries, 1, 040 of them will no longer receive the cash assistance effective August 2022.

She said the delisted 4Ps recipients had no beneficiaries below 18 years old and they already reached the third-level of well-being or are considered self-sufficient.

“Their students have already graduated so they are no longer qualified for the 4Ps assistance,” Tero added.

She noted that every six months, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) were conducting an evaluation and monitoring to determine the status of the 4Ps beneficiaries.

“Their (delisted beneficiaries) cards will be inactivated immediately and their names were already forwarded to the DSWD regional and national offices,” Tero added.

Social Welfare Secretary Erwin Tulfo earlier said that about 1.3 million Filipino households in the country had graduated from extreme poverty and would no longer receive cash assistance from the government.

Tero disclosed that the National Household Targeting System for Poverty Reduction (NHTS-PR) of the DSWD also conducted their survey in Bacolod City in 2019.

It will be their guide to replace the delisted 4Ps beneficiaries, she added.*
