Builders Warehouse-UST clobbers AMA Online by 71 in PBA D-League

The Builders Warehouse-UST crushed AMA Online by a whopping 71 points, 150-79, in the PBA D-League Aspirants’ Cup on Wednesday at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.

The win gave Cebuano head coach Albert Alocillo his first victory in the D-League.

"Napakasarap," said interim coach Albert Alocillo. "Credit ito lahat sa mga bata because they worked so hard at unti-unti, nakakapag-adjust na sila."

Veteran forward Sherwin Concepcion tallied the league’s 10th triple-double performance with 18 points, 14 rebounds, and 10 assists.

Promising Cebuano guard Nic Cabañero also fired on all cylinders and finished with 19 points five boards, two assists, two steals, and two blocks to help the Growling Tigers end their four-game losing streak.

The 71-point win for Builders Warehouse-UST is the second-highest winning margin in the PBA D-League, behind only Tanduay which bamboozled Zark's Burgers by 76 points, 141-65, back on July 10, 2017.

Meanwhile, in the second game, EcoOil-La Salle won their second game in a row with a 72-69 victory over Adalem Construction-St. Clare.

Kevin Quiambao nailed the go-ahead jumper with 9.3 seconds left on the clock before a split from the line in the final 5.4 ticks capped off his 18-point, eight-rebound, and six-assist performance.

Joaqui Manuel contributed 11 points, four boards, two assists, and two steals, while CJ Austria got 10 points, five rebounds, and three steals to push the Green Archers to the playoffs with their 4-2 card.
