NOW it can be told.

La Carlota City Councilor Julius Martin Asistio will be endorsed by both Love Negros and United Negros Alliance (Unega) as president in the upcoming election of the Philippine Councilor’s League (PCL)-Negros Occidental.

This was confirmed yesterday, July 27, by Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson, saying that Silay City Councilor and current PCL-Negros Occidental president Ryan Gamboa may opt to run for vice president instead.

Gamboa is currently sitting as a Board Member of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Negros Occidental being the president of the league.

“We will be discussing the lineup (of the PCL officers) because we want to nominate one lineup only,” Lacson said, adding that he suggested to Vice Governor Jeffrey Ferrer to sit down with Gamboa and Asistio to discuss the coalitions’ decision.

Asistio, son of Negros Occidental Fourth District Representative Juliet Marie Ferrer, is currently the vice president of PCL-Negros Occidental Chapter.

The election of the PCL officers will be next month although the exact date was not yet disclosed.

Both Asistio and Gamboa are yet to issue a statement on this matter.*
