Another group of 1,309 farmers from Pampanga received otal of P6,545,000 worth of financial assistance from the government.
The project, dubbed Rice Farmers' Financial Assistance, was held on Wednesday, July 26 at the Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center here.
This is a program of the Department of Agriculture through the Rice Banner Program in partnership with the Provincial Government of Pampanga.
Beneficiaries are farmers who grow rice with farmland measuring two hectares or less and registered in the Registry System for Basic Sectors in Agriculture.
Each rice farmer will get P5,000 and an Interventions Monitoring Card (IMC) that will serve as the farmer's cash card and ID.
Pampanga Vice Governor Lilia Pineda presented the programs and projects being prepared by the admimistration of President Marcos.
“We are happy that there are more projects and programs now under the DA. We hope that President Marcos would effect great change in the plight of our ordinary farmers,” Pineda said.
Other officials present during the event were Third District Board Member Ananias Canlas Jr., Rice Banner Focal Person Lowell Rebillaco, Agricultural Program Coordinating Officer of Pampanga Lorna Tablante, and Pampanga Provincial Agriculturist Jimmy Manliclic.
