“A NIGHT to remember” - wishful thinking manifested into a reality.
After two years lag period brought by the drastic effects of the pandemic, with the restrictions brought to a low, the Lyceum of the Philippines University – Davao College of International Tourism and Hospitality Management (CITHM) recently concluded their Grand Culmination with their central theme: “Manifesting Global Emergence” last July 26, 2022, at DusitD2 Davao.
With the event’s two-fold purpose of learning and socializing, it started with a Hotel Familiarization given by various departmental managers and supervisors from DusitD2, aimed to broaden the perspective of hospitality and tourism students in housekeeping, food & beverage services, front office, and marketing.
The Gala Night also had socializations, talent shows, and a search for Mr. and Ms. CITHM 2022, where Ms. Margaret Nicole Rey and Mr. BJ Kyle Juevesano bagged the crowns.
To cap off the evening, an awards ceremony for those who have given their unceasing generosity and support was held with the highest citation of recognition and appreciation given to the Vice President and Chief Academic Officer of LPU Davao, Dr. Felipe G. Balingit, Jr.
With the immense support and eagerness of the parents and the students, especially in complying with safety and health requirements, the event did flourish and reached its purpose of delivering the “LPU Lifestyle” where one can live a life that leads them to learn, enjoy, achieve, discover.
The event was organized by the pool of LPU Davao CITHM student leaders headed by Mr. Sherwin Vinz Dismas, a 3rd year HM student, in coordination with their Dean, Dr. Raffy P. Yroma, and with the guidance of the faculty members, Ms. Ruth Angela Lacuna, Ms. Rea Angelique V. Tarnate, Chef Hannah G. Callao, Chef Sharyl Alo, and the Program Chairperson for BSTM, Mr. Don Jae Bontia. The LPU-Davao College of International Tourism and Hospitality Management is looking forward to a bigger and better event in the succeeding culmination activities, thriving with their tagline #LearnDifferentLiveDifferent.
