Cop helps woman give birth

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO A policeman from Angeles City helped a woman deliver her baby while on the road on Monday dawn.

Angeles City Police Station 1’s Corporal Aldrin Banag said he and other force multipliers were on patrol along McArthur Highway in Barangay Pulung Bulo, Angeles City when a couple sought their assistance.

The couple reportedly flagged down the patrol unit to ask if they can be brought to Rafael Lazatin Memorial Hospital, which the group complied to.

While on their way, the husband suddenly asked Banag to pull over as the baby is coming out.

The group immediately stopped on the side of the road and upon parking, Banag promptly assisted the woman as she delivers her baby.

The policeman then took the initiative of loosening the baby’s umbilical cord that was wrapped around his neck and clean the fluid inside his nose and mouth for his safety.

Upon hearing the baby cry and ensuring that the mother is safe, they were immediately brought to a hospital for proper medical attention.

The good deed of Banag, which was posted by the Angeles City Police Station 1 on its Facebook page, earned praises from netizens.

The Facebook post has already garnered nearly 200 comments saluting Banag, 194 likes and heart reactions, and 63 shares as of presstime.
