Fish dealer shot dead in Tacloban

A 46-YEAR-OLD fish dealer was shot and killed by motor-riding assailants in Tacloban City Tuesday, August 2, 2022.

Police identified the victim as Roel Bacunawa, married, and a resident of Barangay 6, Guiuan, Eastern Samar.

Initial investigation showed the victim, along with his wife and driver, boarded their service vehicle that was loaded with fish coming from Guiuan and to be delivered to Tanauan, Leyte.

Around 10 p.m. Tuesday, they stopped by the roadside near Naga-Naga Rotunda of Barangay 71, Tacloban, when the suspects suddenly appeared and shot the victim using an unknown firearm.

The victim died on the spot.
