ANGELES CITY Mayor Carmelo "Pogi" Lazatin Jr. of this city has renewed his commitment to prioritize the
rehabilitation of the city's watershed in the upland village at Sitio Target, Sapangbato.
The mayor issued the statement during Wednesday's signing of a memorandum of agreement between the Abacan
River and Angeles Watershed Advocacy Council, Inc. (ARAW-ACI), Porac Bank and the Kapatirang Aetas ng
Angeles-Porac Para Sa Kalikasan at Agrikultura or KAAPKA in line with the city's reforestation program.
Lazatin said over 36,000 were planted in the watershed area by city government employees since last year.
"This is a collective effort mula sa mga kawani ng Angeles City Hall at iba pang government organizations at
ahensiya ng pamahalaan," the local chief executive said.
"As we continue to push for this [project], we are securing the future of Angeles City and our younger
generation.
The mayor thanked the Porac Bank and ARAW ACI, KAAPKA for helping the city government in its effort to
preserve the watershed.
"Rest assured, the Angeles City government will continue prioritizing the watershed and continue what we
have started," Lazatin said.
