THE mother of a 14-year-old girl who was believed raped and then killed in Purok Caimito, Barangay Guimbawian, Pinamungajan town in October 2019 wants justice for her daughter, who appeared to her in her dreams seeking justice for her death.

Baby Andayop, mother of the victim, went to dyHP RMN Cebu AM radio to seek help as she wanted the town's policemen to revisit the case involving her daughter.

Last week, Andayop said their daughter Justine would always visit her and her husband in their dreams.

According to her, their daughter would show to them the traces of blood in a coconut tree at the back of their house while crying.

“Sige na siyag padamgo nga naay punoan sa lubi kuno nga naay dugo gasilbing gadan bitaw ngadto padung sa ubos,” said Andayop.

(She always appeared in our dreams showing traces of bloods in a coconut tree going downward).

She believes that their daughter wanted to achieve justice and have the perpetrator arrested to find rest for her soul.

She said her husband also drank liquor to forget the tragedy.

She added she was also not satisfied about the result of the investigation.

After the incident on October 14, 2019, three persons of interest were picked up for an investigation and were taken swab samples by the PNP Crime laboratory.

But the results did not match with the specimens taken from the girl's body.

The mother said she suspected her neighbor as responsible in the crime.

She narrated that prior to the incident, their daughter was staying inside their house in the evening as she was having fever.

But moments later, somebody knocked the door and her daughter opened it, arising suspicion that she was snatched by the suspect and dragged outside their house.

Andayop said their dog might have also identified the suspect as he did not bark.

Morning of the following day, they searched for the victim but could not locate her.

They were just informed by their neighbors later at 2 p.m. that they found their daughter several meters away at the back of their house.

The Pinamungajan police, when asked to comment, said they are still gathering more information to identify the suspect.

Executive Master Sergeant Peter Cuanzo Jr., case investigator, admitted in an interview with lawyer Ruphil Bañoc in his radio program that they had a hard time identifying the suspect as no witness came forward to shed light on the incident.

“Problema man gud namo ani sir kay hangtod karon naglisud pa gyud mi pagpangita og testigos nato sir nga mo pinpoint kung kinsa gyud ang atong suspect. Naa mi daghan nga persons of interest in fact amo sila gi undergo og vocal swab kay naa may nakuha si Dr. Lara nga specimen sa body sa biktima pero puro man gud negative wala gyud ni jive sa specimen nga nakuha,” said Police Executive Master Sergeant Peter Cuanzo Jr.

(The problem is that until now, we still could not find a witness to testify and pinpoint the suspect. We have many persons of interest. In fact, we subjected them to vocal swab to compare with the specimen taken by Dr. Lara from the body of the victim but the results came out negative).

The mother is calling on their neighbors in Purok Caimito to help them achieve justice for the death of their daughter. (AYB, TPT)
