AFTER the lapse reglementary period, Punong Barangay Eustaquio Genise Villanueva, of Aguisan in Himamaylan City, who was involved in a vehicular accident was already released from police custody yesterday, August 4.

Lt. Darryl Kuhutan, deputy chief of Himamaylan City Police Station, said no charges were filed against Villanueva.

On Tuesday, Villanueva was driving his pick-up vehicle and was heading south of the national highway of the city’s Barangay Suay when he accidentally hit Virgil Serilla.

Investigation showed that Serilla, 22, of the city’s barangay Talaban was heading the opposite direction when he fell from his motorcycle.

Serilla was rushed to Governor Valeriano M. Gatuslao Memorial Hospital where he died while being treated.

Kuhutan said the area where the accident happened was a rough road, and Serilla probably lost control over his motorcycle.

He added that Serilla was not wearing a crash helmet and has no proper documents for his motorcycle.*
