EMPLOYEES of the Cebu Provincial Government are expected to receive cash incentives during the monthlong celebration of the Province’s 453rd founding anniversary.

Cebu Gov. Gwendolyn Garcia confirmed the matter during a press conference at her office on Friday, Aug. 5, 2022.

“I am asking (our) budget (office) to be clear if we can. I would wish to this time. I will not even announce the amount. But what I would wish is to give our regulars, casuals and, if we could also, give some token for [the]benefit of our job order employees. We know that sa situation sa mga job orders dili mahatagan (are not given), but we are looking for a way because they’re working just as hard as our casuals, sometimes even harder,” Garcia said.

Garcia made the announcement just a day before the Provincial Goverment formally celebrate its founding anniversary on Saturday, Aug. 6.

On Saturday, the Provincial Government officials and employees led by Garcia will be holding a mass at the Capitol at 10 a.m. After the mass, each department at the Capitol will hold its own feast for their officials and employees.

To treat their employees, the Capitol officials will also hold raffle draws and sacks of rice will be given to all employees.

“Naa tay daghang cash prizes. Naay daghan sa atong mga suppliers nga ganahan kaayo motabang (We have cash prizes. We have suppliers who are very much willing to help),” Garcia said.

Cebu, including the three highly urbanized cities of Cebu, Mandaue and Lapu-Lapu, will observe a non-working holiday in celebration of the Province’s 453rd founding anniversary. (ANV / JKV)
