THE Provincial Veterinary Office (PVO) of Negros Occidental has noted a slight increase in the average price of eggs in the province, at P0.10 per piece.
Acting Provincial Veterinarian Placeda Lemana, however, assured of enough supply of eggs in Negros Occidental.
Based on PVO’s weekly prevailing market prices of livestock and poultry commodities issued on August 8, 2022, there’s also an increase of P1.38 per kilo on the average price of carabeef (carabao meat), beef at P2 per kilo, and dressed chicken at P0.54 per kilo.
The highest price of carabeef was noted in Escalante City and Sagay City, at P340.00 per kilo.
Don Salvador Benedicto, meanwhile, has the the lowest price at P195 per kilo.
In terms of pork, the highest price was noted in San Carlos City, Silay City and Hinigaran, at P295 per kilo while Moises Padilla, Toboso, Don Salvador Benedicto, Isabela, Kabankalan City and Victorias City have the lowest, at P250 per kilo.
Lemana pointed out that the high prices of feeds is still the main reason for the upward movement on the prices of meat products in the province.
