The Cebu Landmasters-2003 demolished another opponent once again, this time victimizing the 04 The Win-2004, 80-65, in Division B of the 25th season of the Sacred Heart Ateneo Alumni Basketball Athletic Association (SHAABAA) basketball tournament on Sunday at the Magis Eagles Arena inside the Ateneo de Cebu campus.
Up by just at halftime, 59-49, 2003 turned their jets on and left 2004 in the dust with a 20-6 run that put them up by a whopping 24 points, 69-45, heading to the last period of action.
After missing their last game, Moncrief Rogado was back in action and tallied a dominant stat line of 33 points, 17 rebounds, four assists, two blocks, and a steal. Justin Huang was equally impressive with 28 points, 10 boards, five assists, three steals, and a block.
The win moved the Cebu Landmasters to 3-0, while 2004 fell to 1-2.
In other Division B games, the Bad Boys Wingz-2007 had a victorious debut as they nipped the Starkwood Properties Inc.-2009, 56-54. Down by as much as 12, 2007 pulled off the daring comeback, thanks to the incredible efforts of Leigh Dixon, who had a monstrous double-double of 21 points and 32 rebounds to go with four blocks and two steals.
Karl De Pio added 13, while Brennon Gothong pitched in 11 for 2007.
In Division C, the Asian Orthopedics-2014 captured their third straight win with a 67-58 win over Batch 2019. Power forward Lucky Ecarma continued his fine play in the competition, compiling 26 points, nine boards, three assists, three steals, and two blocks to help lead his team to the top of the standings at 3-0.
Gio Laguyo also chipped in 18 points, seven assists, and six boards for 2014.
Lastly, the Carampatana Food Corp.-2012 rallied from an 11-point deficit to stun the SABR Solutions Inc.-2018, 92-88. Rev Diputado helped 2012 escape with the win with his 29 points, five rebounds, and four assists.
2012 also got 13 from Mavii Suarez, 12 from Alexter Tecson, and 10 points and 12 boards from Julius Cadavis as their squad moved to 2-0.
