Over half a million pesos worth of ‘shabu’ seized

MORE than half a million pesos worth of suspected shabu were seized by the operatives of the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) in a buy-bust operation at Barangay Banago in the city past 1 a.m. yesterday, August 9.

The operation also led to the arrest of Rodmar Abada, 37, and Eunice Latuna, 28, both residents of the barangay’s Purok Kawayan.

BCPO records showed the suspects were arrested after one of them sold a sachet of shabu to a poseur buyer.

Police recovered from the suspects' possession 21 plastic sachets of suspected shabu weighing 81 grams valued at P550,800, the P1,000 marked money, P250 cash and a sling bag.

Investigation showed that Abada, who was under surveillance for almost a month before his arrest, is identified as a high value individual in Bacolod City.

The suspects are detained at the custodial facility of Police Station 3 and will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.*
