LAWMEN have arrested two alleged big-time drug traffickers and seized some P6.8 million worth of illegal drugs in a joint anti-drug operation in the province of Tawi-Tawi, the police reported Wednesday, Wednesday, August 10, 2022.

Police Colonel Richard Verceles, operations chief of the Area Police Command-Western Mindanao, identified the arrested suspects as Nurhamin Nurhussin and Hosna Nurhussin Rahim.

Verceles said the two were arrested in a buy-bust operation around 5 p.m. Tuesday at the port area in Poblacion village, Bongao, the capital town of Tawi-Tawi.

Verceles said recovered from the two suspects was a kilo of suspected shabu worth P6.8 million, a genuine P1,000 bill placed on top of 11 bundles of “boodle money,” a motorboat, other plastic bags and a box.

He said the suspects were placed under the custody of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Tawi-Tawi office for the filing of appropriate charges against them.

He added that the anti-drug operation was launched by joint operatives of PDEA, Tawi-Tawi policemen, military and coast guard personnel. (SunStar Zamboanga)
