Magugpo East Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Chairman Judi Ven Lor assumed as the newest SK Federation President in Tagum City, days after Ethan John Monilla vacated his post for testing positive during the surprise drug test.

Lor took her oath on Wednesday, August 10 in front of Mayor Rey Uy, which was witnessed by officials of the Department of Interior and Local Government.

Monilla formally stepped down as SK President on Monday, August 8.

In a formal letter dated August 3 forwarded to the mayor, which was read by Boy Lemos during the City Council regular session, Monilla resigned due to "personal reason."

"I am forever grateful for the opportunity given to me as member of the Sangguniang Panlungsod of City of Tagum," Lemos said, quoting Monilla's letter.

The ex-officio did not provide additional details on his recognition.

Monilla has also not issued any statement pertaining to his resignation.

Uy confirmed in a previous radio interview that Monilla tested positive in the surprise drug screening on August 1 inside the Sangguniang Panlungsod, which resulted in the session having a one-hour recess to give way for the testing.

Uy said in a statement that the official will undergo rehabilitation once confirmed to be using illegal drugs.

The mayor also said that the official will undergo rehabilitation. RGL
