The StorageTown-2015 escaped with a 75-68 win over the RDAK Powersports-2020 in Division C of the 25th season of the Sacred Heart Ateneo Alumni Basketball Athletic Association (SHAABAA) on Wednesday night at the Magis Eagles Arena inside the Ateneo de Cebu campus in Mandaue City.
Down by eight in the third, 39-47, Batch 2015 came alive and rode the hot shooting of Anton Araw-Araw and Julito Pogoy III to help them take a 57-53 lead to the fourth canto. They eventually pushed their lead to a high of 10, 69-59, before cruising to their second win in as many games.
Araw-Araw almost had a triple-double with 17 points, 10 rebounds, and nine assists, to go with five steals. Chaz Cokaliong drained five triples en route to tallying 17 markers of his own.
Steven Co had 13 points and 10 boards, while Pogoy had 11.
In the other Division C match, the 2014-Asian Orthopedics captured their fourth victory in as many games as they thrashed the Casa Mira-2021, 96-59.
2014 did not take long to assert themselves in the match, zooming off to a 24-14 lead after the first canto and extending it to 15 at halftime, 48-33. They eventually went up by as much as 39, 90-51, in another dominant performance this season.
Gio Laguyo had 20 points and five assists, Lucky Ecarma added 14 points, nine boards, and six assists, while AJ Ong had 13. Popoy Navarro also chipped in 12 to underscore 2014’s impressive balanced scoring attack.
