TALISAY City Councilor Eduardo “Digul” Gullas III is eyeing to replicate the Sugbo Mercado at the Cebu IT Park in Cebu City as part of his city’s tourism attractions.

However, Gullas, the younger brother of Mayor Gerald Anthony “Samsam” Gullas Jr., said they still have to find a suitable area where they can establish the food park.

Gullas, who chairs the committee on trade and industry; livelihood, labor and employment, told reporters that the proposal aims to promote the city’s culinary ventures and to assist local entrepreneurs.

“Mag-estorya mi, mag-brainstorm mi, human among estoryahan uban ni mayor. Ang pangitaon gyud ana ang lot,” Gullas said on Tuesday, August 9, 2022.

(We will discuss and brainstorm ideas and talk with the mayor afterwards. What we are going to find is the lot).

But Gullas said only entrepreneurs from Talisay City will be allowed to sell at the food park.

Though Gullas did not give an exact date on the project’s start, the councilor said he will try his best for the project to come to fruition during his term.

He said he can provide more details about the project once they can find a place for the food park.
