Man shot multiple times in broad daylight in Davao City

A HIGH-ranking official of the Sta. Ana Police Station said the man who was shot multiple times in broad daylight has just gotten out of jail and was allegedly a known thief.

The victim was shot by an unidentified gunman at 11 a.m. on August 11, 2022 while riding on a jeep in Piapi Boulevard, Barangay 22-C, Davao City.

Police Lieutenant Col. Ronald Lao, Station Commander of Sta Ana Police Station, identified the suspect as Paul Jhon Dizon Ferraren.

Lao said the victim was with his mother, Jocelyn, and his live-in partner, Emily, when he was shot multiple times by an unidentified suspect. The suspect immediately got on a black Mio motorcycle, which had no plate number, driven by a male driver wearing a black shirt and a black and white helmet. They were heading south.

According to the police and based on their initial investigation, the suspect was medium built, tanned skin, and was around 5’3” to 5’6” in height. He was wearing a face mask and a black shirt.

Photos went viral online showing Emily holding in her arms the body of the victim while still inside the jeep.

The victim was brought to the Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC) but was declared dead on arrival by the doctors.

Lao said the victim is a known thief and was recently released from jail.

The motive for the killing has yet to be determined.

Three cartridge cases of a caliber 9mm were recovered by the police investigating the crime scene.

The Sta. Ana Police Station is currently conducting a “manhunt dragnet operation” to identify and arrest possible suspects. JPC
