THE Bureau of Customs (BOC) has intercepted various illegal drugs worth around P14.7 million in inbound and outbound parcels, it said Thursday, August 11, 2022.

In a statement, the BOC said 300 grams of methamphetamine hydrochloride (shabu) valued at P2.04 million were found in an outbound parcel declared as wall sticker for house decoration at the Port of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport.

Authorities also seized P8.9 million worth of ecstasy in an inbound package declared as Women’s and Baby Wear Gift.

Another bunch of ecstasy tablets valued at P3.8 million were recovered in an undeclared inbound parcel.

“According to the Port of NAIA, further investigation is underway to arrest those behind the illegal trade for possible violation of Republic Act (RA) 9165, or the Comprehensive Drug Act and RA 10863, or the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act (CMTA),” the BOC said. (SunStar Philippines)
