TRUE to its commitment of synergy, the Provincial Government of Negros Occidental will be participating in the upcoming MassKara Festival in Bacolod City.

Provincial Administrator Atty. Rayfrando Diaz II said the booths of various local government units at the Panaad Park and Stadium in Barangay Mansilingan will be opened for the festival.

Diaz said Bacolod Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez had written the province to prepare the park for the MassKara festival.

He said that Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson had already instructed to hasten the repairs and construction works in some of the booths at the park in time for the MassKara Festival opening.

“It’s still a tourism activity, regardless of the name, the event will bring people to the province of Negros Occidental,” Diaz said.

MassKara Festival will be celebrated in Bacolod City again from October 1 to 22 after two years of hiatus due to the ongoing coronavirus disease (Covid-19) pandemic.

Diaz also said that Benitez and Lacson has pledged financial support for the Negros Trade Fair at Glorietta Mall in Makati City in September.

Dubbed as the longest provincial trade fair in the country, it is being spearheaded by the Association of Negros Producers.

Meanwhile, about 6,000 members of the Philippine Institute of Civil Engineer are arriving in Negros Occidental for their convention on October.

With this, Diaz said tourism officers are told to prepare the lodging and the tour packages will be available.
