THE National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Mandaue City Cebu District Office has secured a video footage of the car believed to have been used by the person behind the shooting on August 8, 2022 of an overseas Filipino worker (OFW) in Barangay Subangdaku, Mandaue City.

NBI-Mandaue agent-in-charge Arnel Pura told SunStar Cebu they were able to obtain the color, partial information of the vehicle's plate number, and the direction the vehicle took after the shooting.

He said they talked to the partner of Roberto Estandarte, 45, a resident of Gentle Breeze in Barangay Subangdaku who was shot in the left chest after an argument with the gunman, a driver of a four-wheeled vehicle.

The partner (identity withheld for security purposes) was with the victim onboard a motorcycle when the shooting happened around 11 p.m. Monday, August 8.

The partner was unharmed, while the gunman quickly drove away after shooting Estandarte.

Estandarte’s partner said that the car was a 2019-2021 Toyota Vios model with a faded metallic gray color and with a plate number that starts with 5, 1 in the middle, and 3 as the last digit.

Pura said they are now tracing the vehicle using these pieces of information.

He asked the gunman to surrender, saying the NBI will “really trace his vehicle no matter what.”

"There is only one lacking number as the plate number should be four. So, mas maypag mu surrender nalang sa NBI Mandaue kay eventually ma trace man japun sya," Pura said.

Those who may have identified the gunman through the video footage, which was released to media Friday, August 12, are advised to get in touch with the NBI-Mandaue by calling 4366819 and 09178951080, said Pura.
