US-BASED LNG specialist Excelerate Energy and Cebu company Topline Energy are collaborating on the Luzon LNG Terminal project that will bring an LNG or liquified natural gas hub to Cebu.
The collaboration between the two celebrated energy distributors will bring cleaner and more sustainable energy to Cebu soon. It also marks the first step of LNG distribution in the province.
LNG is the cleanest fossil fuel option in the market. “The utilization of LNG is a combative approach to reducing greenhouse gases and stopping global warming,” Topline Energy said in a statement.
In its collaboration, Excelerate Energy and Topline intend to establish Cebu as an LNG logistics center in the Visayas, supplying LNG while utilizing ISO tanks to the surrounding islands and consumers across the country, regardless of their size and location.
The Luzon LNG Terminal project’s overall aim is to build and develop LNG terminals and power plant infrastructures over the next few years. In doing so, the project is able to move forward in providing access to clean and sustainable energy to the Cebuano population. Its primary objective is to be a reputable clean energy provider in the country and positively impact not only people’s lives but also the environment the future generations will inherit.
“With Excelerate Energy and Topline Energy’s noble objectives and aims, Cebu is one step closer to saving the environment thathas been neglected and tarnished over the years. Not only would the project bolster industrial progress, but it will also be a stepping stone to a greener future,” Topline said.
The Mactan Economic Zone-Facilities, Maintenance and Environmental Association recently held its second membership meeting and technical sharing on July 22, 2022, at Goldberry Suites and Hotel in Lapu-Lapu City. / KBC
