CITY OF SAN FERNANDO The LausGroup E-Sports Eagles are bound to make history as the first Filipinos to make it to the prestigious Coin-based NBA 2K League Steal Open via an exhibition and draft combine in Indianapolis in the US on August 17 to 20, 2022.

Three of the nine LausGroup E-Sports Eagles---Paolo Madronio, Isaiah Alindada and Dominic Peñaflorida---will be the first Pinoys to participate in the NBA-sanctioned actual 3x3 inaugural and go game with international professional teams.

LausGroup E-Sports Eagles Coach Al Timato told SunStar Pampanga during the send-off luncheon hosted by LausGroup President Paul A. Laus at Dencio's that the team will go all out to make a mark in the league and get "noticed" in the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

"It makes us proud and inspired to go to Indianapolis for the Coin-based NBA 2K League Steal Open since the LausGroup E-Sports Eagles will be the first Filipinos to participate in the actual games at the PanAm Pavilion along with professionals sponsored by NBA teams," he said.

For his part, Laus said that the LausGroup E-Sports Eagles, formed in 2017 and counts Ateneo and Gilas hoopster SJ Belangel as a member, is a focused-team that has seen a lot of action internationally online.

"This actual participation is a milestone for the LausGroup E-Sports Eagles as the very first Filipinos to see action in an actual league with other top-rated teams. Although part of it is an exhibition which I encouraged them to enjoy, I am certain they will play their best as usual and get noticed in the draft combine," he said.

With the LausGroup E-Sports Eagles trio during the send-off were Team Manager Ian Serranilla and fellow veteran player Arnie Sison.
