3 arrested, drug den dismantled

THREE persons were arrested while some P408,000 worth of illegal drugs confiscated in an anti-drug operation launched by Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) backed by policemen and soldiers in Zamboanga City, a top PDEA official announced Monday, August 15, 2022.

Emerson Margate, PDEA regional director, identified the arrested suspects as the following: Andy Dumael; Hassim Aminulla; and, Lyner Baguio.

Margate said they were arrested in a buy-bust that led to the dismantling of a drug den around 5:10 p.m. Sunday in Sta. Catalina village.

Margate said the buy-bust was launched after it was confirmed that the suspects are maintaining a drug den at Betty 2 Drive in Sta. Catalina village.

He said recovered from the drug den were 60 grams of suspected shabu worth P408,000, a smart phone, P32,960 cash in different denominations believed to be proceeds in illegal drug sale and several drug paraphernalia.

He said the suspects were detained while formal charges are set to be filed against them. (SunStar Zamboanga)
