The Consolacion Sarok Weavers seized the solo lead in the standings after they demolished the Lapu-Lapu City Pantum, 85-64, in the Pilipinas Super League 21-Under VisMin Leg on Tuesday afternoon at the Compostela Sports Complex.

After a close first period that saw the Sarok Weavers go up by just three, 13-10, Consolacion hit their stride in the second and unleashed a crippling 30-10 run that gave them a 23-point lead, 43-20, at halftime. From there, Consolacion kept on the pressure, eventually going up by as much as 31 to take Lapu-Lapu out of the match.

Dave Paolo led the bench barrage for the Sarok Weavers as he had 18 points, eight rebounds, and three steals. Rovello Robles and Froiland Maglasang also came off the bench and combined for 20 markers. In all, Consolacion’s bench accounted for 62 of their total output, underscoring the team’s incredible depth.

More importantly, Consolacion moved to 7-1, a half-game ahead of the idle Davao Occidental Dreamers in the team standings.

Nobody reached double-figures for the Pantum, with the team’s leading scorers, Jeco Bancale and Jhoernel Tangkay, being held down to just eight points apiece.
