ALMOST 100 cases were added to the tally of total active Covid-19 cases in Davao City, based on the weekly tracker of the city government released on August 15, 2022.

As of August 13, the total active cases reached 608 cases. The majority of these or 357 cases are asymptomatic, followed by mild cases at 235 or 38.65 percent.

On the other hand, moderate, severe, and critical cases are less than two percent of the total active cases, wherein 12 cases are moderate, three are critical, and one severe case.

However, the number is an increase from the active cases logged approximately two weeks ago (July 30) which was 369 cases. It further increased to 510 active cases on August 6 before reaching more than 600 this week.

The tracker of the city government did not include the current positivity rate but a 16 percent positivity rate was recorded on August 12, according to Davao City Covid-19 Task Force spokesperson Dr. Michelle Schlosser.

“Katong nilabay na July 31 until August 6, ang positivity rate nato (The past July 31 until August 6, our positivity rate) was approximately eight percent. Pero karon adlawa, August 12, nakatala na pud ta og (But on August 12, we recorded) 108 cases and this puts us to 16 percent positivity rate,” Schlosser said during a radio interview.

Meanwhile, only Barangay 34-D remains a high-risk barangay, while moderate-risk barangays climb to 27, based on the latest barangay risk classification from the period of August 14 to 20, 2022.

While Barangay 32-D has an Adar rate of 15.48, the highest of the 27 moderate-risk barangays, wherein five cases were recorded in the past two weeks from the barangay’s population of 2,307.
