Abducted man in Batangas found dead in Quezon

THE man who was abducted by several armed men in Taal, Batangas was found dead in Quezon province, police said Thursday, August 18, 2022.

Taal, Batangas police chief Major Dante Majadas said the body of Eugene del Rosario, 25, was found in Barangay Bignay in Sariaya, Quezon around 6:50 a.m. on August 17.

His face was covered with packaging tape and his hands were tied behind his back.

Del Rosario was abducted by several armed men on board two vehicles while walking in a gasoline station along By-pass Road, Barangay Mahabang Ludlod, Taal, Batangas around 7:53 p.m. on August 16.

Majadas said Del Rosario’s live-in partner Jane Macatangay positively identified his body.

He said Macatangay also admitted that Del Rosario is a member of a group involved in several incidents of “bukas kotse” in the said province.

Majadas said the victim is a resident of Tondo, Manila.

He said they are looking into the victim's involvement in illegal activities as among the motives of the killing.

He said investigation is ongoing for the identification and arrest of the suspects. (SunStar Philippines)
