43 contingents in 2022 Pamulak

A TOTAL of 43 contingents are confirmed to join in the Pamulak sa Kadayawan on August 21, 2022.

At the AFP-PNP Press Conference on August 17, 2022, at the Royal Mandaya Hotel, Wadab Babao, Pamulak sa Kadayawan organizer said several organizations and private sectors have joined the event despite the short time given to prepare.

Participants are expected to use at least 20 percent fresh flowers, plants, fruits, and vegetables for their floats.

There are 11 confirmed participants for the corporate floats, which is a non-competing category.

Babao said that Lahi Category or animal-driven floats have seven confirmed contingents. This category must use anything indigenous or extraordinary small vehicles or contraptions, trolleys, and wheelers that should be animal driven; not electric, motorized, or fuel-powered vehicles. The Gamay Floats category has 10 contingents. Floats in this category are below 8 feet in width and 16 feet in length

The Dako Category has five contingents. Participating floats for this category must have a maximum size of 8 feet wide and 16 feet long.

According to the guidelines given by the organizer, all competing floral floats shall have a maximum height of 14 feet from the ground and must use at least 80 percent fresh flowers, plants, fruits, or vegetables as the medium.

Winners of the Dako Category's first place winner will receive P800,000, while P600,000 for the second place, and P400,00 for the third place, with P75,000 each for the two consolation prizes.

The first place winner in the Gamay Category will get P400,000, the second prize winner will receive P300,00 and P200,000 for the third place, and P50,000 pesos each for the two consolation prizes.

Lahi Category first place will get P150,000, second place gets P75,000, and P50,000 for third place, while two others will be given P20,000 as consolation prizes.

The Pamulak sa Kadawayan will start at 6:00 a.m. from Roxas Avenue and will be on standby at the San Pedro Square by 4:00 p.m.

Meanwhile, Babao said that there are 10 participants in the Pitik sa Kadayawan drum-beating competition. KSD
