LIEUTENANT General Erickson Gloria, vice chief of staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), paid a farewell visit Friday, August 19, to the Western Mindanao Command (Westmincom).
Gloria, prior to his forthcoming retirement, will visit the major units of the AFP to engage with other military officers and personnel before he officially bows out of the military service.
The officers and personnel of Westmincom rendered foyer honors to Gloria and was received by Lieutenant General Alfredo Rosario Jr., commander of Westmincom and the command Staff at the Laong Laan Hall inside the Westmincom’s administrative building at Camp Don Basilio Navarro, Zamboanga City
Gloria said that he is proud of the achievements of Westmincom.
For his part, Rosario congratulated Gloria on his successful journey as a military officer.
Both Rosario and Gloria belong to the Philippine Military Academy “Maringal” Class of 1988.
During his visit to Westmincom, Gloria was accompanied by his wife, Jeline; their children; and his staff at the Office of the Vice Chief of Staff.
As the vice chief of staff, Gloria serves as the primary assistant of the AFP chief of staff in his operational duties, as well as in policy conceptualization and implementation in the AFP.
Gloria also represents the AFP chief of staff in the latter's absence. (SunStar Zamboanga)
