Zamboanga City logs 94% recovery rate

THE Zamboanga City Health Office (CHO) announced that the city has logged 94.48 percent recovery rate though the active cases of coronavirus disease continue to increase.

Data the CHO released Friday, August 19, 2022, showed that the city has registered 28,409 recoveries representing 94.48 percent recovery rate as there were 30,066 cumulative confirmed cases of Covid-19 since the start of the pandemic in March 2020.

The data also showed that the active cases of Covid-19 climbed to 393 with 31 new registered cases as of Friday. The recorded deaths stand at 1,264 since March 2020.

Dr. Dulce Amor Miravite, city health officer, reiterated that the public should continue practicing the minimum health standards as data showed that 363 of the 393 active cases were acquired through community transmission.

“Continue to wear face mask especially in going out of your homes,” Miravite said.

The remaining active cases include 17 authorized persons outside residence, 11 detainees, and two returning overseas Filipinos.

The health status of the active cases are as follows: asymptomatic, 55 percent; mild, 35.6 percent; moderate, 7.4 percent; and, severe, two percent. (SunStar Zamboanga)
